Day 6. Christchurch. 28.2.26

Today we went on a bus trip to Akaroa, 90 km S.E of Christchurch. The road was undulating and winding and I was feeling a little travel sickness but the views were spectacular. Our 1st stop was at Sumner Beach to look at the cave.

We pulled over at a couple of viewing spots on the way to Lyttleton.

Nice views down the valley at Teddington.

Coffee stop at Little River.

This trail looks really good and one that we should come back and do in a few years.
We've been saying our next house should be on a hill with views 🤔😍 It's called the Hilltop and is a place for functions and events.

Akaroa is a seaside town, located on the Banks Peninsula, it is a historic, charming town renowned for its unique French heritage, colonial architecture, and stunning harbor views. Akaroa, meaning "Long Harbour" in Kāi Tahu Māori, was founded in 1840 as part of a planned French colony.

They don't like our possums 😲

We went for a short bush walk through the forest. Would love to have explored it more but we ran out of time.

We stayed on the edge of the forest trails and was rewarded with some great views.

All good things must come to an end unfortunately and it was time to head home. Our driver took us along the highway this time so it was a bit quicker.
We have loved the luxuriousness of our little holiday unit but tonight we had to do a final clothes wash and pack our bags for the next leg of our journey.
4 games of Monopoly Deal were played and we all managed to win a game each. I think Karen and Greg taught us too well!
